The Lesser Antilles

The Eastern Caribbean - the Lesser AntillesThis long group of small islands at the ridge of the Caribbean Sea has long been under the European rule and influences, which have intermixed with local customs and African cultures. The result is a vibrant and variegated civilization, and many countries on a small territory that are often wrongfully mistaken as alike, but are in fact quite diverse, unique and individual. Adventure, relaxation, glamour, culture, sports and anything else you want, you will find here, in this region of small but great isles.

The Eastern Caribbean (the Lesser Antilles) stands out as one of the finest sailing areas in the world. Each of the small islands, from St. Thomas to Trinidad and Tobago has something special and unique to give you. They can be divided into Leeward and Windward Islands.

If you are looking for an exclusive, stylish and vogue destination there are many places where you can get the taste of the high-life. Don’t miss fine dinning and duty-free shopping at St. Thomas, see and be seen at St. Barts, feel the southern France at cosmopolitan Martinique or mingle with the royalties and celebrities at Bequia and Mustique.

And the most famous for beaches and secluded coves are Anguilla, Antigua, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Vincent, Grenadines or Tobago Cays. For many the most beautiful of the Windwards is Grenada.
It is the second smallest independent country in the western hemisphere, known as The Spice of the Caribbean; nutmeg, allspice, clove, cinnamon, ginger, bay leaves, tumeric (local saffron) and sapote make a splendid mixture of smells, that can be felt throughout the island. There are also large plantations of sugarcane for rum production, which is still made in the old-fashioned way.

Grenada's capital, St George, is considered one of the Caribbean's most attractive and picturesque cities. Don’t miss Grenada Carnival, and feel the rhythm of local steel bands, drums and calypso music.
