useful Information

Some useful information about the CaribbeanCaribbean islands cover a vast area. Although seemingly quite similar, they are in many ways different.
At a first glance, it may appear as if they are the same in geographical features, but this is not true. They differ considerably in their structure, rock origin and formation and landscape. These differences aside, they distinguish among each other in various social, political and cultural matters.

Some may think of the Caribbean countries as one political entity, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Here, almost every island is a country to itself, with its own laws, rules and regulations. Some of the islands are divided between more countries; some are constituent parts of other countries and some countries are in fact groups of many smaller islands. You can’t just move from one country to the other without valid travel documentation.

Also, tradition and heritage are very important to the people; cultural identity is highly appreciated and visitors are expected to respect local customs and good manners. Some countries are still rather politically shut in, and in some countries the matter of political independency is a burning issue, so be careful what you say if you get involved in such discussion.

It is always a good idea to do a bit of research about a country you are going to visit; this way you’ll know what to expect and how to act.

In general, Caribbean people are friendly and hospitable and with a few tips in mind, you are guaranteed to have wonderful, inspiring and relaxing holiday.
